Stroke and Stride Race #7
It is that time of the year again, summer is nearly over and we are trying to make the most of these last beach days. This week it was race 7 of the stroke and stride season. Competing with the likes of Chris Gemmel (#5 in the ITU ranking) the rough conditions in the water helped me and all that swimming training finally paid off. If you have a look at the guy standing at the extreme right below (or the red shorts on the picture at the right) you might recognize somebody familiar....

This was my best race this season coming in as 7th in my age group.
Now everything is set for the big finale of the summer 2006/07 season: The Rangitoto Swim on the 11th of march. Yes, this time it is for real, I am crazy and brave enough to swim 4.5km's starting from Rangitoto Island back to the mainland in St Heliers. As there are another 200 hundred crazy swimmers the sharks have plenty to choose from....I will keep you posted....
